DESCRIPTION:Summary\n\nIt is said so often: change is the only constant. We know change is natural and inevitable\, yet so often we find it troubling and difficult. It’s certainly not easy! Yet\, successful leaders are able to lead their organizations through significant change. They employ the forces and dynamics of change to build their organizations\, and they are effective in helping others make their way through change. This interactive session with Dr. David Renz\, Director\, UMKC\, will offer:\n\n \tFundamental insights into the dynamics of change\n \tHow different people perceive and cope with significant change\, and\n \tWhat enables us to be successful change leaders.\n\nPresenter: David O. Renz\, Ph.D. \nDavid Renz is the Beth K. Smith/Missouri Chair in Nonprofit Leadership and the Director of the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership\, an education\, research and outreach center of the Department of Public Affairs in the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During his career\, Renz also has served as a senior government executive\, including five years as Executive Director of the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities and six years as assistant commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. Renz received his Ph.D. in organization theory and administration and a Master of Arts in industrial relations\, both from the University of Minnesota.\n\n\n
