DESCRIPTION:About the Program\n\n8:30 - 9 a.m.: Coffee\, Networking\, and Registration\n\n9 a.m. - noon: The Leadership Puzzle\, Adorna Carroll\, DSA\nThis leadership training workshop will focus on the foundational concepts that all association professionals need to understand when serving in leadership positions and working with boards of directors\, committee members\, and volunteers. All legal duties and the corporate responsibility of board members will be reviewed; how volunteers need to stay in their lane; understanding conflicts of interest and how to manage them; understanding the benefits of agreements to serve; avoiding harassment issues and the basics of meeting management so things can get done.\n\nNoon - 1 p.m.: Lunch\n\n1 - 2 p.m.: Equity Centered Leadership\, Shannon Foster-Boline\nEveryone has heard the terms "Diversity\, Equity\, & Inclusion"\, but what does it really mean to lead with equity as a core principle? Where do you start as a leader? How do you go beyond the simplistic refrains to a deeper understanding of the issues impacting your members and our society at large? During this interactive session\, Shannon will guide you to explore your own experiences and perceptions of diversity\, equity\, and inclusion. This self-reflective approach is an important first step in developing an understanding of how you can create a culture of equity-centered leadership for your organization.\n\n2 p.m.: Program concludes
